1. Introduction

SuperNomad ("we", "us", "our") operates the website supernomad.org and the SuperNomad mobile application (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information when you use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: name, email address, and password when you create an account.
  • Profile information: your Working Holiday Visa type, preferred job types, and location preferences.
  • Contact form: name, email, and message content when you contact us.
  • OAuth data: if you sign in with Google, Facebook, or Apple, we receive your name and email from the provider. We do not access your contacts, posts, or friends list.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, search queries, and interaction patterns (via PostHog analytics).
  • Device information: browser type, operating system, screen size, and language preference.
  • IP address: used for security (rate limiting, fraud prevention) and approximate geolocation.

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect payment information — SuperNomad is 100% free.
  • We do not access your Facebook account, groups, or private messages.
  • We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide the Service: display job listings, save your favorites, send job alerts.
  • To improve the Service: understand usage patterns, fix bugs, develop new features.
  • To communicate with you: respond to support requests, send job alert notifications.
  • To ensure security: prevent abuse, detect fraud, enforce rate limits.

4. Job Listings & Data Sources

SuperNomad aggregates publicly available job posts from over 200 public Facebook groups. We only collect posts that are publicly visible in open groups. We do not access private groups, private messages, or any user's personal Facebook data. Job listings are processed by AI to extract structured information (job type, location, salary) and are displayed on our platform with a link back to the original Facebook post.

5. Data Storage & Security

  • Your data is stored on secure servers hosted in Australia.
  • Passwords are hashed using Argon2id (industry-standard, one-way encryption).
  • All connections use HTTPS/TLS encryption.
  • We implement rate limiting, input validation, and parameterized database queries to prevent attacks.
  • Sessions expire automatically after a period of inactivity.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data with:

  • Analytics providers: PostHog (self-hosted analytics) to understand how the Service is used. Data is anonymized where possible.
  • AI providers: When you use the AI cover letter feature, your job preferences and the job description are sent to our AI provider to generate your message. No personal contact information is shared.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights.

7. Cookies

We use the following cookies:

  • Session cookie: keeps you logged in (essential, expires on session end).
  • Language preference: remembers your chosen language (stored in localStorage).
  • Analytics: PostHog may set cookies to track anonymous usage patterns.

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
